You know you’re busy when…

Real estate is great…no complaints from me. I seriously love having listings on opposite sides of King County and potential buyers calling me because they saw my name on a sign. And I love seeing my inbox full of emails from clients rather than ads from the Gap and the usual spam mail. Honestly, I think I’m happiest when I’m busiest at my job. So here’s to more clients, more sales and more happy buyers and sellers.

Wait, you didn’t think that was all did you? I have to throw in a little humor and a slice of reality so here it goes:

Its summer and that means its time to relax and let life slow down just a bit. You know, like backyard BBQ’s, days spent at the beach and a trip or two down the ol’ slip and slide. Ok, I may be thinking of a show I saw on ABC Family because last I checked this hasn’t happened yet. Because summer also means school is out and the kids are home. All day. Here are some signs that you might need to slow down your summer just a bit:

1. You don’t feel one bit bad that your kids are getting their clothes out of the dirty clothes basket every morning because there’s no time for laundry. You aren’t even opposed to telling them to wear their clothes inside out to hide a stain.

2. You would really like to have your family members schedule all phone calls a day in advance or better yet, ask them to text you instead.

3. You put your son on 2 summer baseball teams and had a moment of panic when you thought both teams were playing each other in the same tournament.

4. You no longer regret getting a dog because it turns out that it really cuts down on the amount of vacuuming you have to do under the kitchen table.

5. The backseat of your car has become the new dining spot. At least one meal a day is eaten there and you are deathly afraid to look back there or god forbid look under the car seat.

6. You have at least 3 restaurants programmed in your cell phone. It’s really bad if they know you by name and what your “usual” is.

7. You consider a Starbucks coffee a balanced meal.

8. A play date is a life saver. You barely slow the car down when you drop your kids off. The clock is ticking and your to-do list isn’t getting any shorter.

9. You justify going through the McDonald’s drive thru because aren’t French fries a vegetable after all?

10. You have a secret calendar counting down the days until school starts so your life can get back to normal.

If this sounds too familiar then go outside, soak up that sun (or clouds depending on the day) and enjoy the season. And don’t worry, I’m never too busy for real estate becasue I have a lot of free time now that my kids are at play dates and I’m not burdened with things like cooking, cleaning or laundry!

Thank you for making me feel human 🙂

  2. This is awesome…good god can I ever relate. My new count down is how long before Jake goes into full day Kindergarten…I think Harrison said it “mom, it is a good thing Jake is so cute because otherwise you would kill him.” Great blog post!

    Hilarious. So true.

    Still laughing over #3…

And, how many days till school starts?

We are totally living the same summer! I laughed out loud about the baseball comment – I had the same panic! I needed a laugh today!
