The road to Cara in the House

Cara in The HouseOne of my favorite things to do when I’m not working or playing Words with Friends is to look at the site stats on my blog. For those of you outside the blog world, the site stats keep track of how much traffic I get on my blog and where that traffic comes from. While this may seem very nerdy (which it most certainly is), it is also very helpful. One of the features of the site stats is a section called Search Engine Terms and it tells me what people typed in their search engine in order to find my blog. Here are some of my favorite searches:

Of course it makes me very happy that at least once or twice a day someone searches for “Cara in the House.” That let’s me know my branding is working and as long as it’s not the same person each day typing that in, the word is spreading! Another search that comes up often is “what sells a house.” I’m glad the internet gods see me as the expert on what sells a house and lead people to my humble blog. One time I had a search in all Chinese…no clue what it said although it probably said something like “best real estate agent in the Seattle area.” And lastly, my favorite search of all time: “make boyfriend’s video game room tasteful.” I would sure like to meet that person and ask them if my blog helped in any way. I hope it did.

If you are someone that enjoys my blog, please share it with your family and friends.

I can’t think of one post of yours that didn’t make me laugh.

Are you sure the Chinese search didn’t say “Cara Rocks?”

This one cracked me up, Cara…thanks for the laugh!

Or the Chinese one could have been, “how do I get my girlfriend off my back about my video game room?” But I like your theory better…

  4. […] It gives me great pleasure to go behind the scenes of my website to see what people type in their search engines to find my blog. If you missed my original post on this topic you can read it here. […]
