In my former life I was a teacher. There is really no such thing as a referral in the teaching industry. In sales there is definitely such a thing as referrals. In fact, you really don’t have a business if you don’t have referrals. How does one get referrals? {here’s where I would insert the answer if I had one.}

In my former life when I was a teacher I would absentmindedly listen to my husband’s conversations when he talked business (he’s in sales). He would always mention how he had a “guy” that could do this or a company that could do that. Sometimes I wondered if he really had such a guy because there was never anything he didn’t have a guy for. “Hey do you know a guy that does windows?” “Who do you know that can build an addition above a garage?” “Do you know a good company that can get the smell of smoke out of a house?” I swear he always had an answer and some lucky person got that referral. Now that I think about it, those were the same people that would refer my husband. Hmmm, I think I’m catching on. Sometimes it takes a referral to get a referral. That old saying “I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine” didn’t come up much in teaching but I’m beginning to think I should have that tattooed somewhere on my body now that I’m in sales! So, from now on I will have a “guy” or a “gal” or a company that can do something. If you want to be on this list, comment below or email me with your specialty! Or, if you are in sales and you have some tips on how to get referrals, comment below. Or better yet, if I can be your “gal” that does real estate, I would be forever indebted to you and promise to work extremely hard for anyone you refer. And thanks to those of you that have already made me your real estate gal!

    We so appreciated the “guys”/companies you recommended to us and FYI, I’d so refer others to you as both an agent and a teacher!
