In a fog about real estate?

It’s hard to know what to believe these days when it comes to the real estate market. The media portrays nothing but gloom and doom and frankly so do some agents. But there are those of us out there that remain optimistic, even in this “down” market.

If I’ve learned anything l lately, I’ve learned the market is what you make it. Yes there are ups and downs but there are buyers and sellers doing just that, buying and selling. And yes there are obstacles out there like short sales, buyers that can’t get qualified and listings that are overpriced but there is a market. Because for every overpriced listing there are also realistic sellers whose priced-to-sell homes are selling in a timely fashion. And for every buyer that is still waiting for the perfect time to buy, there are buyers out there who are capitalizing on the historically low interest rates and snatching up homes today. So if you are confused about the state of the market, ask an optimistic agent who knows how to look on the bright side.

By the way, I took the photo of the Space Needle with its head in the clouds as I was driving to day 2 of the 2010 Windermere Symposium (see previous post titled Rah Rah Windermere). Don’t judge me that I took this photo while driving. At least I had the common sense to wait to text it to my friend Sheila until I was at a stop sign! Anyway, day 2 was equally as good as day 1 and I am more proud than ever to be a part of the Windermere team. I am also very happy to report that I only saw one person wearing their Bluetooth earpiece and since I saw a handful of people with iPads (love those Apple products) I think I can say all is well with the universe.
