10 signs the market is improving (in no particular order):

10 signs the Market is improving

  1. My neighbor’s house went on the market for $699,000 had an offer in 5 days.
  2. I overheard one of my colleagues in the office tell someone “I’m sorry, that listing went pending and we already have a back up offer in place.”
  3. Clients I sold a home to a year ago have now asked me to help them buy an investment property.
  4. Because I’m willing it to be a better market!
  5. My phone and iPad batteries can barely go a full day without needing to be recharged!
  6. Word on the street is that consumer confidence is up (apparently there’s an index that measures that so that’s obviously good right?!)
  7. According the NWMLS (the Northwest Multiple Listing Service), as of today there are 422 new listings and 408 listings gone pending (pending is a fancy word for “has an offer and is waiting to close.”) I’m no mathematician but that’s not a very big gap!
  8. Staff meetings at the office are encouraging, not depressing. We’ve even had a latte cart the last two meetings. If that doesn’t say good market, then what does?!
  9. I feel a strong need to call the agent before I show a home because there’s a good chance it might already have an offer.
  10. Because it’s a good time to buy!

Did that latte stand offer Madagascar Vanilla lattes? Tell me when that day comes. Then I will know.

  2. Janice says:

You know times are REALLY good when you get cocktails at those meetings (I can recommend a few…) I’m convinved that will happen very soon.
